CALIFORNIA BOARD TO MAKE THINGS WORSE!

California Board is making some serious changes to our practice style.

In California right now, we are only required to have 12 hours of re-licensing, and the re-licensing can be done with an independent provider, which means that you can do it outside of the school.

Now, for 2009, the board is going to increase our re-licensing hours from 12 to 24 hours and all licensing will have to be done thru the so called chiropractic colleges, and the course fees will go from like $149 now for 12 hours to like $800 for 24 hours of re licensing thru the schools.

Here's the worse part.... at the end of the 24 hours...the chiropractor will have to take a test to pass with 80% or the chiropractor will not get the credits, and the chiropractor will be required to carry, 1 million, 3 million malpractice insurance or you'll not get licensed....can you believe that?....

Personally, I don't carry malpractice anymore, because it's a scam. I used to carry it for over 10 years, and the one time that I needed the help from my insurance carrier, they stalled me, and gave me the song and dance...."Well, Dr. did you take the patient's blood pressure?".... "Did you take the patient's vitals?"...no.... and my so called insurance carrier was supposedly a malpractice carrier for straight chiropractors.

Well, let me tell you this...if this happens.... I'll probably not be renewing my license and I'll just keep doing what I'm doing now, and call myself a neuropractor or something like that....

It's stupid that I'd put myself thru all of that, because I have very, very little insurance and for P.I.'s, I'll just refer them out.

So, our board sucks, and then they still want to be more and more medical.

Only three agencies benefit: Chiropractic Schools, the Board, and the 3-4 savvy, unscrupulous, "sell-out Medipractors" that sold this idea to the former! Not one patient will benefit from each Chiropractor being out of his/her practice for more than twice the required time.

unbelievable! Malpractice protects you from losing your ability to practice and help other people. This type of practice is currently illegal in NYS. NYS considers you to be acting as an insurance company when you take monthly fees for unlimited service. Your web site is very disparaging to the rest of us that are working legally and within our scope of practice.

i guess it's too hard for chiropractors to get 80% on a test and give up 24 hours of their precious time.....and $800 bucks? ouch! chiropractors cant afford that!
